Choose an IATA-approved cage
To ensure the safe transport of your pets in the hold, a certified cage according to IATA standards, approved for long-haul air transport is mandatory. It guarantees the safety and well-being of your pets.
- The cage is made up of two plastic half-shells that fit one on top of the other. Once assembled, they are held together with metal threaded rods (fitted with nuts or wing nuts),
- The metal door must have four locking rods that extend a minimum of 1.6 cm beyond the bottom and top of the cage,
- The cage has vents on the front, sides and back.
Make sure that the cage is adapted to the size of the animal so that it can turn around, stand and sit properly and that the animal cannot put its muzzle through the grid.
Restrictions for specific animals
Some animals are not allowed on our flights:
- Specific breeds of dogs (Pitbull, American Staffordshire, etc.),
- Brachycephalic dogs and cats,
- Females in oestrus or in advanced pregnancy.
For guard or defense dogs of the Rottweiler type, a specific procedure applies, especially for the cage. Contact us for more information.
