Your trip to French Polynesia is the perfect opportunity for a couple to go scuba diving, or to book a couples massage. You can also take a catamaran cruise with your guests, or go hiking in the lush valleys of Raiatea or Huahine.
Among the must-sees, we recommend that you book a guided tour to see stingrays and blacktip sharks. Along the way, you may also encounter dolphins and whales.
And don't forget to sample all the flavors of this tropical land: vanilla and raw fish in coconut milk ("poisson cru au lait de coco") are just some of the wonders you'll discover here. Last but not least, why not celebrate your union with tattoos? They're the perfect way to take this souvenir with you wherever you go, and to celebrate our beautiful culture.
Can US citizens get married in Tahiti?
The Islands of Tahiti are an ideal destination for lovers. Any foreigner who is at least 18 years old can get married in French Polynesia, under certain legal requirements (not being already married, not being related, having at least one adult witness for each spouse, etc.).
So, how to get married in French Polynesia? To get your Polynesian marriage certificate, contact the city hall of the island/town of your choice in order to organize the most beautiful day of your life. Several documents must be submitted to justify these requirements and to proceed with the wedding ceremony.
If you are a French citizen, you should know that at least one of the engaged partners must have been resident in the municipality for over a month. However, you can organize a traditional or non-religious ceremony to renew your vows after your civil marriage in Mainland France. For further information, please contact the local town hall.
